SCHOOL COUNCILS WORKING SESSION

A full day of learning opportunities will be offered for School Councils on Saturday, December 1st and again on Saturday, December 8th.
NOTE: * The same sessions will be offered on both dates so School Council members need only attend one of them.
Even if you have experience as a Council member, this event is for you! 
Chairs/Co-Chairs and ALL members of each School Council should attend as the purpose is to use this opportunity to work together as a team.
Sessions will include sharing information and having discussions on:
--School Council Responsibilities and Planning
--Building Relationships with your Principal and Superintendent
--Assessment of, and for, all Learners
--Building Partnerships with Yukon First Nations

Come learn, bring your questions, meet other School Councils, meet Department of Education staff and other key resource people who are involved in our public school system.
Location:  Whitehorse, venue to be announced
Dates:  Saturday, December 1st OR December 8th  
      * NOTE:  Whitehorse School Councils are encouraged to attend the Dec 1st session; 
                       Rural School Councils are encouraged to attend on the Dec 8th session
                       HOWEVER IF YOUR SCHOOL COUNCIL CANNOT ATTEND ON THE TARGETED 
                       DATE, THERE ISSOME FLEXIBILITY TO ACCOMMODATE THOSE COUNCILS 
                       WHO NEED TO PARTICIPATE ON THE ALTERNATE DATE.

Time:
  8am - 4:00 pm

SPECIAL EVENT:  Following the sessions on both dates, there will be a supper hosted by the Association of Yukon School Councils, Boards & Committees for all members of School Councils who are supporting Members of AYSCBC.
